Obasanjo Has Access To President Jonathan, FG Says

The Chairman, National Information Center, Mr. Mike Omeri, has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo has direct access to President Goodluck Jonathan should he want to contribute to the rescue of the kidnapped Schoolgirls from Chibok. Obasanjo had during an interview with The BBC said he hadn’t been given the go ahead to re-establish communication channels with terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
While stating that he wouldn’t be joining issues with the former President, Omeri said as an ex president, Obasanjo has the inalienable rights to make inputs into governance processes. He also denied that some 20 Fulani women were kidnapped near Chibok recently and said the story was yet another misinformation outlet by those who intend to rubbish the gallant efforts of the military in the war against the insurgents.
He also said efforts by troops through land and air surveillance were ongoing in an attempt to rescue the girls.
